How to Book
A $100 (land only); $300 (air inclusive) per person deposit is required at time
of booking.At 60 days prior to departure, Merit requires payment of the full
holiday cost.
Increase in Tour Costs
Merit Vacations reserves the right to increase tour prices in the event of an
increase in fuel costs, government taxes, supplier price increases, or any other
cost.
Responsibility
Merit Vacations (hereinafter referred to as Merit) is a division of Merit Travel
Group Inc. We act solely as agents for the Travel Service Suppliers such as
hoteliers, airlines, ground service operators, bus operators, etc. who are
providing their facilities as described in this brochure. We do our best to
select such suppliers but exercise no control over them and cannot be held
responsible for the failure of these suppliers to carry out any obligations. Any
and all bookings made with these suppliers by us, for you, are subject to the
terms and conditions of each and every such supplier. Suppliers liability may
also be limited by law, tariffs, or conditions set forth in their documentation,
tickets, etc. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Merit and its
agents are not responsible for any and all claims for losses, damages, delays,
illness, injuries, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, or anxiety arising from:
a) Fault of negligence or omissions on the part of the said travel service
suppliers;
b) Illness, theft, strikes, mechanical problems, quarantine, governmental
intervention, weather conditions, acts of hostility or violence, and any other
grounds beyond
our control;
c) Your failure to obtain passport, visas, inoculations or other travel
documents;
d) Your failure to report on time at an airport or ground transfer facility;
e) Material damages, theft or other mysterious disappearance of your goods;
f) Personal injuries or death;
g) Force Majeure - an event(s) beyond our, or our supplier(s), reasonable
control including, but not limited to, acts of God, strikes, lockout or other
labour disputes or disruptions, wars, blockades, insurrections, riots,
earthquakes, weather conditions, floods or acts of retraints imposed by
governmental authorities
Liability
Where travel services are purchased separately,and not as part of an inclusive
package, Merit’s responsibility shall extend only to the provisions of advice as
to industry-standard or supplier recommended, connection and check-in times.
Provided Merit supplies such advice, it shall not be responsible for missed
connections or departures, regardless of the cause.
Insurance
Trip cancellation, medical and hospital, baggage, and various additional
coverages are available and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for your vacation. By not taking
insurance, you are fully liable for any and all penalties imposed as stated
under Cancellation Policy on this page. Please speak to your representative at
the time of making reservations about insurance.
Description
Every effort has been made to describe the travel services in this brochure as
accurately as possible, but please note that there may be different living
standards and conditions with respect to the provisions of utilities, services,
and accommodation at your resort than you are accustomed to at home. Information
and photographs contained herein were accurate at time of printing, however, we
will do our best to inform you should any significant change occur. Refunds
Travel is a perishable product, which often can not be resold. For this reason
some penalties and restrictions apply with your vacation investment.
YOUR RIGHT TO RECEIVE A REFUND IS LIMITED.
The nature of travel involves risks and unpredictable weather and thus Merit
cannot assure any departure or arrival times at any point of an itinerary.
Cancellation Policy
Policy applies to the land portion only; additional penalties will apply for the
air portion. Cancellation penalties are:
(A) 60 days or more prior to departure: loss of deposit;
(B) 59-45 days prior to departure:25% of holiday cost;
(C) 44 – 22 days prior to departure:50% of holiday cost;
(D) 21 days or less prior to departure:100% of holiday cost.
Some properties/destinations have more severe cancellation penalties and if so,
these policies will be noted on the invoice and will prevail. Should Merit be
required to cancel these arrangements, a full refund will be made to the
traveller. Changes in these reservations may not be possible. However, should
you request a change to these arrangements and if we are able to accommodate
your request, a $50 administrative fee will be charged to you.
Request to re-issue invoices will result in a $25 administration fee. The nature
of travel involves risks and unpredictable weather and thus Merit cannot assure
conditions. Merit cannot issue refunds or rain checks for any unused holiday
services or portion thereof.
Consent
Your retention of tickets, reservations or bookings after issuance shall
constitute your consent to the above terms and an agreement on your part to
convey the contents of this Booking Notice to your travel companions or group
members.
